Reasons Why I Love Mom

May 6, 2016

Mom, mama, mother, momsy, or ina, is how she is known to some, but we all relate her to one word, love. Wherever your mother is, that is where home is. I gaze at her in amazement, how she makes overcoming the most difficult trials, so easy to face. Simply the idea of my mother gives me that warm comforting feeling. This is why it does not make it difficult to name reasons why I love my mom so much, the difficult part was just picking three out of that long list:

1. I can rely on her when I need her the most

I love my mother for being the shoulder I can lean on when no one else stood by me. With just one phone call my mother utters comforting words, like a sweet melody that always seems to calm me down.

She goes above and beyond to keep me happy. I remember that whenever I’m in trouble, I immediately call out her name. She provides such a safe haven for me that I know that she will always be there for me no matter what.

2. I feel welcome in her arms

One of the most endearing qualities of mothers is their sense of understanding. I will admit that I am often scared to confess my wrongdoings to my mother than my father, because I always dread the portion where she scolds me. At the end of each lecture she still ended up hugging me, there I felt how hard she tried to understand me.

From there I was taught how to see people from a perspective that I could understand them. I learned to be more accepting of others faults and not be so critical of them.

3. Truth is, I would be lost without her

Sorry dad, iba kasi si mommy eh. You cannot compare a mother’s love to anything on this world. I see my mother play so many roles in my life that I cannot imagine a world without her. She has always been that guiding light, especially during those periods when I could not figure my way out of the darkness.

For some reason, my mother always found a way to the bright end despite any dark problem. I was always puzzled with how she seemed so calm as I watched her figure out a solution to each problem.

Then it hit me, every mother has a gift, call it mother’s intuition if you will.

Thanks, Mom

The special woman in my life deserves a gift like no other. She has been with me my whole life. She has guided me every step of the way, it is now my chance to be her light.

I know that by providing her with health insurance, I have alleviated her worries over hospital bills. My mother deserves medical insurance for all those days that she has dedicated her life to me.

It may not even come to half of what my mother has done for me, but at least I know that I have somehow lessened her worries.

Thank you, mom. No really, thank you, for everything.
